Journey drug addict life was
filled with confusion due to reliance to the drug and many of them end up
destitute and homeless. But not all addicts who decide to go through life that
way forever, a few of them managed to get back to life without drug and change
their way of life.
Among them is Sohaimi Ahmad, who
was a program manager of Rumah Pengasih, located in Kuala Lumpur. At the first
glance, no one could tell that he actually is a former drug addict, they could
only tell after he shared his story. This is because of now he can actually
live and talk confidently after free from drug addict life.
This man was jailed several times
for stealing and taking drugs. Previously, he was also a beggar in the Klang
Bus Station and rehabilitation centers are like a second home for him. Even so,
Sohaimi is not ashamed to share his experience of his former life because he
believes that it can be used as a guide for anyone who wants to try the drug.
Sohaimi said "I lost 22
years of my teenager life because of start having heroin at the age of 14
years. At that time I also lost my father and family members have accused me as
parricide".
"Before he died, he asked me
to take him ablutions water before the dawn prayer. But because of being under
the addiction of drugs, I scolded him. It is also the last time I talk to
him," he said with a sad tone at Rumah Pengasih, Kuala Lumpur.
Now the 52 years old Sohaimi
wants to share his experience with drug addicts who are seeking treatment at Rumah
Pengasih. He lived happily with his wife and awaiting the birth his third step grandchild.
He had also been nearly death
eight times because of excessive drug use. Fortunately, life is long and he is
confident that he got a second chance to improve himself.
"My life is much better
without drugs. Now I get closer to the Lord and am fully enjoying my life. I
believe now my life has an important mission which is to help others addict to
come out of the shackles of the drug," he said.
由于依赖药物, 吸毒者的生活充满了混乱,这造成许多吸毒者们落得一贫如洗,无家可归。但并不是所有的吸毒者都决定通过这样的生活方式活下去,还有一部分的人设法改变他们的生活方式以便回到无药物的生活。
乍看之下,其中一位位于吉隆坡关怀之家的项目经理苏艾密哈迈德,曾经是位吸毒者。没有人知道他曾经是吸毒者,只有在他分享了他的故事后, 才能知道事实。这是因为戒毒后,现在的他可以自信地交谈和生活。
他曾经因为偷窃和吸食毒品而入狱多次。此前,他还是一个以巴生巴士站和康复中心为第二个家的乞丐。即便如此,苏艾密不以为耻,他相信以分享他的经验,能让他用来作为指导那些想要尝试药物的人。
苏艾密说:“我14岁时开始吸食海洛因,这让我失去了22年的青少年生活。当时我也失去了我的父亲而我的家人都指责我为弑父”。
“在我父亲去世之前,他要求我在祈祷的黎明之前带他到沐浴水去,但由于药物成瘾下,我骂他,这也是我最后一次跟他说话,”他在吉隆坡关怀之家悲伤的道。
现在,52岁的苏艾密想把他的经验分享给那些正在关怀之家寻求治疗的吸毒者。他与他的妻子现在过得很开心幸福,也正期待着第三孙子的诞生。
因为过度使用药物,他曾经差点死亡8次。幸运的是,人生是漫长的,他有信心也很庆幸拥有这 第二次机会来提高自己。
“没有了毒品,我的生活过得更好。现在我更能接近主,并充分享受我的生活,我相信我现在的生活有一个重要的使命,那就是帮助那些吸毒者从药物的束缚中走出来,”他道。
